This is my least favorite port to embark a cruise line thus far here in the United States. The parking and traffic flow is a nightmare. It is super congested and they have different people directing traffic that gives you total opposite advice on where to go and where to park. We ended up having to drive around multiple times before we were given solid direction. Then after you finally get on the ship you have hours of cruising dark disgusting smelly waters of the Mississippi before you get to sea. I would recommend not utilizing this port as there are several ports around the south east that have a much more desirable experience than this port. This was a one and done visit for us ever using this port again. Do yourself a favor and choose a different location to port out of. I only have my own experiences and if you feel otherwise to each their own.
New Orleans is just one of those feel good cities. It's slow but fast and there is a little something for everybody to enjoy. Everytime me and wife travel her we have a awesome time.
A very nice cruise port located at the Riverwalk Outlets on the Mississippi River! Easy to get to either by driving, taxi, Uber or walking. Near many different hotels in the area. Clean and very well organized. Home to both Carnival Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Can accommodate 2 cruise ships at once. Not overly busy or crowded! Staff was really helpful, competent and friendly! Negotiating through security, customs and the porters was fast and efficient! Plenty of seating in the terminal. Snacks and drinks are also available for purchase. Highly recommended cruise terminal if you want to sail from New Orleans!
We had a perfect experience why staying at the cruise port. The staff were funny and helpful from the min we pulled up to see which way to go. The guy we paid was respectful and patient as we asked him questions. The guys that helped with our bags and cola ones everything but they did rush so make sure to have everything in line before you stop to hand off any bags. We kinda did get rushed and pushy through this part. Finding the perfect parking spot was easy. An when we returned everything was just as we left it. Exit was simple and easy to follow. I can only really say good things about our experience.
Disney cruise parking lot H. You can drop your luggage off and passengers and park. A shuttle will bring you back. You are charged when you arrive back to pick up your vehicle. We were charged $80 but some said they were charged $90. Embarkation was not bad for Disney, but we did have Concierge status so there was no wait for us. The staff was friendly and the terminal was very clean.
Clean, well maintained, and secure. Had some car issues upon leaving and was helped by and amazing employee named Pauly! Thank you so much for all your help!
Easy to get to from the city but entrance to the port is restricted to two lanes which causes a huge congestion when more than one cruise ship is departing on the same day. Check in lines can also be very long as the number of counters is restricted by the relatively small departure hall. It’s recommended to go there early to avoid waiting in line for hours.
The worst cruise port traffic PERIOD. They need to do better with traffic and directions to the cruise port and properly inform how to get to the port if streets are going to b closed. Sat in traffic for almost 2 hours just trying to get to the port to drop off. Was there on a off day i cant imagine how horrible it would b if it was a Sunday or Saturday with multiple cruises there to leave around the same time with debarking and embarking passengers. It has to b the worst nightmare imaginable.
